Top floor of The Shard offers views of London for hundreds of millions of pounds

Like a lot of luxury hotels you can get a room here for as little as £300 per night. But expect to pay a lot more. The three-bedroom, three-bathroom suite on the 74th floor of London’s Shard has had a bespoke price tag of £4.5m.

The room, the second of its kind at the tower, features floor-to-ceiling windows that let guests look out over London’s skyline and have views of the Thames valley and the Millennium Dome.

There is a central living room, dining room, work/home areas and two bedrooms which can be combined. Three large wardrobes complete the suite.

The apartment is being sold as an investment and it is not yet known whether the sale will go through. The Shard was originally marketed as a luxury hotel and restaurant, but the price of the exclusive suite is likely to include fees and VAT.

The luxury hotel chain Vista Hotels & Resorts owns The Shard. But it also has 12 further luxury properties in London and New York.
